Why must they insist on mixing church and school?!?

I'm at my wits end with this school and the government trying to press Christianity on us like it's the only religion that matters. Granted I was raised Episcopalian myself but still there’s a place for religion it was established over 500 years ago in London!!!! Church of England ring a bell people?!? Now I feel I should explain myself in this post that may have seemed odd for some of you.... Every year they send the sophomores off for a week to an awareness Seminar correctly enough entitled "Sophomore Awareness" where they make the sophomores aware of drugs, alcohol, sex, gays lesbians etc. now normally this is held at the Rec. center which is Appropriate for this type of thing and it has always been held there ever since I have been at Morse and the general Consensus is that it's been held at the rec center every year but this year their holding at the United Church of Christ, this tremendously Irked me when I first heard about it. Am I they only one who sees that this is trying to mix church and school? Get back to me on this people and tell me if I’m right or not.
